Self Care with Art and Nature

Here are some examples of our self-care workshops:

Interact with nature and have fun making these stop motion videos. The scope of ideas with these film’s are endless. Themes and materials can evolve and develop between participants. Participants can have fun making small film productions. Group members can be writers/directors, sound producers, creative directors or even technicians! These films foster creativity, collaborative skills and problem solving.

Interact with nature using clay. These wellness vessels offer participants a chance to learn hand-building clay techniques. Here we can see how shapes observed in nature can inform the creation of a hand made vessel. Containers (habitats) in nature, such as small nooks and crannies, nests, or badger holes in the ground can inspire and inform ideas and materials used. These wellness vessels use clay to engage the senses while demonstrating themes of containment, holding and support. Positive messages can be physically incorporated and shared with the group.

Engage with the source life, our rivers! These activities will invite participants to engage with nature's flow. Participants will experience flowing water visually audibly and physically, mindfully focusing and observing flowing water. Art making can be enjoyed outside or in the studio. Basic watercolour techniques can connect these sensory experiences.
